Friday Faves: Blogging Tips with a Coffee Twist

What morning doesn’t start with a HUGE cup of coffee? Well, maybe a bad morning. But, we’re going to make it a great one and start off by making our favorite cup of coffee. While we’re at it, we’re also going to give you our top tips for creating a killer blog post. So, what exactly does it take to create a great cup of joe?

Great Espresso

Great espresso is the base of any great cup of coffee. It’s not just something that’s recommended, it’s a necessity if you’re planning to wake up and make it to work on time. The content of your blog post is the espresso of your coffee. Great content will keep people interested and engaged in your blog post and business. Then, those same people will share it with their coworkers, friends, and social media followers.

Skim Milk

Next, we add a splash of skim milk. “But, why not whole milk?” you ask. Well, your blog posts need to be easy to read for all the skimmers in the world who won’t read your whole post. Since most people won’t read every word you write, use headlines, numbered lists, and bullet points to help people read your posts.

Sugar

Who doesn’t love a little (or a lot) of sugar in their coffee? Our favorite cup has a ton, and so should your blog post. Keep your blog post short and sweet. People have a very short attention span, so you want to be sure to get straight to the point.

Flavors

Espresso, milk, and sugar are great, but the right flavor combination will take your cup of coffee to the next level. We’ll take a grande salted caramel mocha over a basic cup of coffee any day. Just like certain flavors can complement your coffee, the right tone will complement your business. For example, a professional tone complements a B2B business and a conversational tone complements a B2C business.

Catchy Name

Which coffee would you rather have? A salted caramel mocha or a coffee with milk, flavored syrup, and sugar? That’s right, the first one! Even though they’re the same drink, the first one sounds much more appetizing. Likewise, your blog title needs to be intriguing and use keywords to be search engine optimized. You want people to be able to find your blogs on google, so do a little research, get a little creative, and make sure to get your SEO on track!
